OFFICERS have issued drivers with a vehicle crime warning following recent incidents in Basingstoke.

In a news alert released this morning, PCSO Lee Gardner from Basingstoke District said: "This message is to inform you about a couple incidents in which have been reported.

"A vehicle has been broken into and another has been tampered with and there may be more unreported incidents.

"I would recommend that you check your vehicle once you have locked it, when the lights flash and the doors lock we assume that the vehicle is secure but this is not always the case.

"If you have any valuables in your vehicle then I would recommend that you remove them from the vehicle when it is left unattended.

"DASH Cams are a good investment, this is a device about the size of a sat nav and they are motion sensored. They are good to record any suspicious activity involving our car and they are good if you have any incidents whilst out driving."

If you see anything that you think is suspicious then please report it via 101.
