THE RG postcode has been revealed to be one of the luckiest in the country when it comes to lottery wins.

RG ranks ninth in the country for people becoming millionaires via The National Lottery in the last five years as, since 2012, 30 players in the postcode region have become millionaires, and in some case, multi-millionaires.

RG has also been lucky for high tier prize winners with, in the last five years, 82 players banking a top tier prize of at least £50,000, putting the postcode in at 19th in the country.

One RG resident who celebrated a life-changing win recently is Tammie Pickett (pictured). The mum of four from Basingstoke revealed a £1 million top prize on a Scratchcard from National Lottery GameStore last Christmas and will be celebrating this Christmas in the dream family home she was able to buy with her winnings.

Since the launch of The National Lottery, 64 millionaires have been made in RG – more than two a year. In addition, 439 players sporting the RG postcode have banked a top tier prize of at least £50,000.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “The RG postcode has certainly recorded a bumper few years, long may that run of luck continue. We’ve been delighted to welcome these lucky RG ticketholders to the ever-expanding lottery winners club and there’s always room for more.”

“The National Lottery makes, on average, a new millionaire every day meaning there are big winners in every corner of the country. We are always ready to help celebrate and have plenty of champagne on ice.”
