STUDENTS from Merton Junior School served up a Christmas treat for a group of pensioners in Popley.
Singing Christmas carols and spreading cheer, the group of students visited the Melrose Centre, in Abbey Road, on Tuesday, 5 December to entertain guests while they tucked into a festive feast.
Mayor and mayoress of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillors Paul and Jane Frankum were the guests of honour for the special dinner, which aimed to get youngsters engaging with the elderly members of the community.
Those in attendance enjoyed the carol singing and thanked the students from the Romsey Close school for putting on the performance.
