POLICE have today confirmed the names of three people who died in a collision on the A339 in Lasham over the weekend.

Officers were called to the A339, at the junction with Station Road, following a collision involving a Honda and a Hyundai at around 1.40pm on Saturday, 20 January.

Today, officers confirmed Heidi Eyre, 77, of Coval Gardens, London, was the rear seat passenger of the Honda who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, another rear seat passenger of the Honda who died at Southampton General Hospital a short time later has been named as Heidi's husband Patrick Eyre, 80, also of Coval Gardens, London,

The front seat passenger of the Honda, Robert Beresford, 90, of Trinity Hill, Alton, who was also taken to Southampton General Hospital. He died there in the early hours of January 21.

The driver of the Honda, an 87-year-old woman from Alton, suffered minor injuries.

The occupants of the Hyundai, three men aged 25, 23 and 17, from Portsmouth, suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers would like to hear from any witnesses who has yet to speak them.
