A ‘GENEROUS’ donation of a bulletproof vest has been made to a college.

Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) has been provided with a sample bulletproof vest from SafeGuard Clothing, an international manufacturer and distributor of body armour.

The vest was donated to give public services students at the college the chance to gain practical experience with such equipment, preparing them for real-life security scenarios they may encounter.

James Booty, BCoT course director for public services, said: “Thanks to SafeGuard Clothing for this generous donation of a bullet proof vest. We pride ourselves on offering the highest levels of practical experiences for our students.

“We want them to graduate from our college fully prepared for the working world.”

Thomas Bowman, from SafeGuard Clothing, said: “Bullet proof vests such as this one save lives every day. All students should have accessibility to body armour in order to harbour practical experience with protective equipment”
