POLICE are investigating claims weapons were used to damage a Popley house late on Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports that a group of men damaged the front door and windows to a house in Montserrat Road before making off, with claims in the area the men were wielding an axe and possibly a shotgun.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances including if any weapons were involved in the incident which happened at around 10pm.
