A BASINGSTOKE college has asked for permission to install solar panels to power part of the campus.
Queen Mary’s College, in Cliddesden Road, has applied to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to put 60 panels on the roof of Queen Mary’s Hall, covering 95 square metres.
The plans are designed to comply with building regulations for a new music block, which must provide energy from a renewable source. The energy from the panels will feed into power distribution circuits to supplement general lighting and power to the campus.
