BASINGSTOKE rocked out to the original rudeboy Neville Staple last night.

As part of the town's biggest free live music festival - Basingstoke Live - the former lead singer of The Specials entertained hundreds at War Memorial Park.

The event kicked off on Friday with a range of comedy, acrobatic and cooking displays and impressive Heliosphere demonstration - where an acrobat performed while dangling from a huge illuminated balloon.

Revellers enjoyed a variety of music and entertainment throughout the day from local bands and street artists.

There was also a fun fair and performances from musicians and dancers from all over the world as part of Fairfields Art Centre's WorldBeat event.

Tonight, Cockney duo Chas and Dave headline the main stage to close the festival.
