Plans for a new sports facility on the outskirts of Romsey go on show to the public next week.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes are staging an exhibition of proposals to provide 30 acres of new sports facilities, including all-weather pitches and changing facilities, at Ganger Farm alongside a residential development on the site.

The developers say the scheme responds to the emerging Test Valley Local Plan policy which allocates land at Ganger Farm , currently a pick-your-own facility, for formal recreational use.

The exhibition will be the first of two and seeks feedback from the community on the sports facilities proposed.

The exhibition will be held on Wednesday December 11 at the 10th Romsey Scout HQ in Braishfield Road, between 1pm and 7pm.

Visitors to the exhibition will have a chance to discuss the proposals with the developer and consultant team.

The exhibition material will also be available on the developers’ web site dwhsotoncommunity.co.uk from next Thursday.

Julian Jones, development director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes: “Following the feedback received and the ensuing finalisation of the sports provision, we will be able to determine the number of houses which will be included in the development. “ He said a further exhibition in January will show the number and layout of the homes.
