A DRIVER was injured in a four car shunt at a crossroads in North Baddesley yesterday morning.

Police say that the 57-year-old male driver of a Ford Focus had neck and head injuries and had to be cut free from the wreckage  after the accident on the A27 outside the Ox pub.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. His injuries were “not thought to be life threatening", added the police.

Firefighters had to remove the Focus's roof to release the driver who lives at North Baddesley.

The other vehicles involved were two Peugeots and a Dacia  - none of the other drivers were injured. Police are now investigatining the incident.
