A PUBLIC consultation exercise is now under way on Test Valley Borough Council’s latest revision of the authority’s Draft Local Plan which includes contentious house-building proposals around Romsey.

Exhibitions on the plans are being staged at various locations around the borough including Romsey and North Baddesley –both earmarked for large housing developments in the council’s planning blueprint for the next 15 years.

These include 1,300 homes on farmland at Whitenap and 300 at Hoe Lane in North Baddesley.

Planning bosses will be attending the road shows and the first one in the Romsey area is at North Baddesley on Thursday (Feb 6) at the Pavilion between 2pm and 7pm.

The next two exhibitions will be at Romsey’s Crosfield Hall on Friday (Feb 7) between 2pm and 7pm and Saturday (Feb 8) between 10am and midday.

The final exhibition in the Romsey area will be at Nursling and Rownhams Village Hall on Tuesday Feb 11 between 3pm and 7pm.

Comments on the plan can be made on line at www.testvalley.gov.uk and the consultation period ends on March 7.
