Romsey Fire Station has opened as 24-hour hour Community Reassurance Hub (CRH), in response to the flooding in the area.

In addition to their vital flood response work, community firefighters from Romsey will be offering advice for anyone concerned about flooding.

Flood safety information, practical tips, and a warm cup of tea are available for residents.

HFRS Assistant Chief Officer, Neil Odin said: “Ultimately the CRH has been set-up to give the local community reassurance, by providing a hub for people to get out of this bad weather and get the help and advice they need to stay safe during these floods.

“We would like to invite all Romsey residents to use this hub and, in particular, think of anyone who may be vulnerable, live alone or the elderly. The hub will be a warm safe place and all local residents are welcome.”

Information from other agencies including the police and Hampshire County Council adult services will also be available at the CRH.
