Mental Health Festival at Abbey
9:13am Wednesday 26th March 2014 in Romsey
ROMSEY Abbey is to host a Mental Health Festival.
The festival is aimed at raising awareness on the positive impact spirituality has been organised by the church, Romsey-based mental health charity Triangulate and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Festival-goers will be able to take part in activities including bread-making, meditation, dance, arts and crafts and singing at the event on Saturday, March 29.
Abbey vicar, the Rev Tim Sledge said: “Everyone needs to be well – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We all need some help in these areas from time to time. The partnership with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is also very precious in our work and this is just one of a number of ways we are working together between community, faith groups, and statutory organisations.
“I hope many people will come and find sanctuary and pathways to healing and wholeness of this wonderful event.”
At the fair, which runs from 10am to 2pm, each organisation involved will pledge to end discrimination as part of the Time to Change campaign.
All three of the organising bodies are involved with the drop-in Tree of Life Café, which runs at Romsey’s Caffe Nero each Monday between 3pm and 5pm to offer advice on mental health issues.
