Preparations are well under way for the Romsey Mayor’s Picnic and Duck Race.
Town Mayor, Peter Hurst, is praying for sunny weather this coming Sunday, July 6, when he will be welcoming everyone to the event in the War Memorial Park.
“Bring your own picnic or enjoy the delicious food and drink there will be on offer around the park”, said the Mayor.
The event is organised by the Rotary club of Romsey Test who have arranged a packed programme of entertainment and fun.
There will be live music , charity stalls, the annual Duck Race and fundraising participants enjoying the watery delights of the "Hunka-Dunka, Soaka-Bloka, Drencher-Wencher" pool.
This year's Romsey Carnival Queen, Georgia Fearnley, will also be officially crowned by the mayor during the picnic.
“It promises to be a great afternoon for all the family” said the Mayor.
The event starts at midday when the mayoral party processes from Church Place to the park.
“Everyone is welcome to join me in the procession” says Mr Hurst.
