ROMSEY MP Caroline Nokes has welcomed the news that the first of three BT cabinets to be upgraded in West Wellow went live recently, providing faster broadband connection for the village.

The first cabinet to be upgraded was the one serving Romsey Road and the adjacent properties.

The cabinet at the junction of Canada Road serving the centre of the village and another, which serves the Whinwhistle Road area will go live in the next few weeks.

In Romsey town five cabinets will be going live shortly following the completion of new duct work in Middlebrook Street to make good damage caused to Openreach infrastructure during the installation of water meters.
