Two stars of the cult TV series Game of Thrones have teamed up to make a short film together in the Test Valley.

Irish actor Aidan Gillen, who plays Littlefinger in the fantasy saga, is starring in Song, which is the writing and directing debut of fellow Game of Thrones actor Jamie Sives.

Described as a dark love story, Song was filmed in woods at Goodworth Clatford and produced by Stockbridge-based Fazed Pictures.

Fazed is run by Sarah Li who says her latest production concerns “the lengths to which people are prepared to go for love”.

The 19-minute film, which was shot in just two days and had a budget of just £15,000, is due to receive its premier at the Cork Film festival in November.

Sarah knew Jamie from a previous project and he was able to secure the acting services of Gillen.

The other member of the two-man cast is Darrell D’Silva, who appeared in the Oscar-nominated Stephen Frears’ film Dirty Pretty Things.

Fazed, which has made six short films so far including animations and documentaries, is a one-woman outfit.

Producer Sarah Li, 31, came to the world of movies from events management and learned the ropes working as an assistant to independent director Gabby Dellal.

Sarah says after making a run of shorts Fazed is now working on its first full-length feature, a horror film to be shot on location in Stockbridge and the surrounding area next spring.

“It’s about a woman who lives with the ghost of her dead husband,” said Sarah, who attended Test Valley School in Stockbridge and Peter Symonds College in Winchester.

“It will all be shot on location including Stockbridge High Street.”

Sarah is co-writer on the as yet untitled project with Rishi Vaja and director Michael Cimpher.

“Once it’s made we’ll try to get it noticed at festivals and hopefully we will get a distributor,” said Sarah. “It may end up going straight on- line but we’d like it to have a cinema release.”
