A village hall which runs job seeker sessions has been awarded a grant to improve its wi-fi access by Test Valley Borough councillors.

Nursling and Rownhams Village Hall Committee received £950 from the Councillor Community Grant.

The job seeker sessions are run by volunteers who offer advice and guidance on writing CVs, completing application forms and searching for vacancies.

Chilworth, Nursling and Rownhams borough councillor, Phil Bundy, accompanied by fellow councillors Alison Finlay and Nigel Anderdon, presented the cheque to members of the village hall management committee.

Mr Bundy said: “The wi-fi will benefit a number of groups as well as the job seekers who meet at the hall. The work will help to make the facility a more desirable and adaptable venue which will suit a larger range of community clubs and groups.”

A similar job seeker session takes place in North Baddesley Library on the first and third Thursday of the month from 10am to 12pm.

Both are supported by TVBC and Romsey Community School.
