At their March meeting Romsey Quilters’ chairman Caroline Daniels presented a cheque for £863 to Anne Campbell of Jane Scarth House.

The money was raised by the Quilters at their regular sales table.

Anne Campbell told members that Jane Scarth House, situated at 39, The Hundred in Romsey, is celebrating 20 years as a walk-in centre providing emotional and practical support to people living with or affected by cancer.

They offer information, counselling, and therapies such as reflexology and aromatherapy among other things.

Romsey Cancer Support Centre has recently been established as an independent charity to support Jane Scarth House.

They receive no money from government and therefore local fundraising is essential in order for them to continue their work. They also have a charity shop, Jane’s in Latimer Street.
