THOUSANDS of pounds of top-end camping equipment was stolen during a major outdoor activities exhibition in Romsey.

Police are appealing for information after someone slashed their way into the marquee over night during the Romsey Caravan and Motorhome Show.

Around £28,000-worth of Goretex coats were taken from a sales stand on the Broadlands Estate.
The raid took place sometime between 1.30am and 8.15am after they were left in the tent overnight on Sunday April 10.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who were at the event and saw anything suspicious at that time to get in contact with them.

They’d also like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have been offered any of the coats for sale.

Anyone with information is asked to get in contact with PC Aaron Wickes at Hedge End Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
