A HUNT has been launched for a hit-and-run driver who injured a police officer in a crash.

Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after the collision, which involved a gold-coloured Ford Mondeo and happened in the Co-op car park in North Baddesley.

At about 11.45am on Tuesday, June 7, the male officer approached the driver and spoke to them through the window near the junction of Botley Road and Rownhams Road.

The driver then reversed the car and drove off at speed, hitting the officer and injuring his hand and leg.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw this incident, or who saw a gold-coloured Ford Mondeo in the area at this time, to contact us on 101, quoting 44160211843.”
