POLICE are concerned that a stolen lamb could be 'used for food' after thieves took it from a paddock in Test Valley.
The seven-month-old animal was take from its home on Romsey Road, Mottisfont between 9pm on Thursday 11 August and 6am on Friday 13 August.
Police believe that the animal is unlikely to be sold on and could end up being used for food.
PC Steve Rogerson, said: “It is likely that the lamb was lifted over the fence and it will probably be used for food, as it is unlikely that it could be sold on to live with another flock.
“The stolen lamb had tags in each ear, an orange one, and a yellow one, with the tag number 03715.
