Pupils at a Hampshire school have been warned that they face being kicked out if they bring knives to school after claims a student was threatened with a blade.
A special assembly will be held today at Mountbatten School after a pupil was accused of threatening a boy with a Stanley knife.
Heather McIlroy, Executive Head teacher of Mountbatten School in Romsey, confirmed that the Year 7 student “in possession of the knife has had a lengthy fixed-term exclusion pending further discussions.”
Police say no arrests was made, but they are investigating.
Mrs McIlroy said: “Knife crime is a growing concern for all of us and is an issue that has been addressed in assemblies.
"Students have all been told - and parents should be aware too -that our policy on possession of weapons in school is very clear: we will not tolerate violence and students must be safe in school.
"Students who bring knives to school risk losing their place at Mountbatten School.”
The terrifying incident comes a week after a teenager was injured in a knifing at Oasis Academy Mayfield in Southampton.
