A TEST Valley man has been “left with nothing” after being targeted by burglars for a second time, in less than a year.

Luke Whiting said he is devastated and he will have to try to bring his life back on track once again after £12,000 worth of working tools and fishing equipment were stolen from his garage in North Baddesley on Monday, July 10.

The 28-year-old carpenter had recently bought brand new items after his previous working tools and fishing equipment were stolen from his garage at St Georges Court in November 2016.

At that time burglars took away tools and equipment valued at £6,500.

Now it has happened again and Luke, who is self-employed, is calling for witnesses to come forward in a bid to stop this from happening again.

He said: “ I feel devastated. I can’t put into words how something like this makes you feel.

“I was just getting back on my feet and it happened again.

“Those tools were my life.

“I work with them and they were worth lots of money.

“It’s not going to be easy now.

“I don’t have enough money to buy everything back again.”

Luke found his garage open and empty before going to work in the early hours of Monday morning.

He reported the incident to the police but he will not be able to get back to work until he will buy new working tools once again.

He said: “I’ll need time to save enough money. I don’t have the money to replace all of that.

“I will try to replace what I can when I can.

“I want my tools back and my fishing equipment back and I want this not to happen again.”

His mum Jane Whiting, 58, a nurse from Eastleigh, said: “I feel for him. It’s just unbelievable.

“We want something to be done. I know how it has affected his life.

“I don’t want this to happen to someone else.

“When something like this happens twice it’s not easy to get over it.

“If anyone has any information or saw anything please call police.

“They have been very helpful and we appreciate what they are doing.”

Hampshire Police confirmed that the incident happened at some time between midnight and 5.30am on July 10.

They are urging anyone with information to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101 quoting 44170263758.
