CHILDREN from a Romsey school helped to brighten one of the town's landmarks.
Reception Class pupils from Romsey Abbey C of E planted dozens of crocus bulbs in the North Garden of the Abbey.
Invited by Friends of Romsey Abbey, the children had great fun and will be able to see their work in full bloom next year.
Jo Hobbs, Reception Class teacher at Romsey Abbey Primary said: "The children were delighted to be involved in the bulb planting and it was an honor to be asked. We are very much looking forward to seeing the flowers in the Spring!"
Roger Rowe, chairman of Friends of Romsey Abbey, added: "The Friends of Romsey Abbey's function is to support projects that make Romsey Abbey an ever better place to visit.
"We were delighted to work with the Romsey Abbey C of E Primary School and Dr Roger Abbott on October 16 to plant crocus bulbs under the big maple in the Romsey Abbey's North Churchyard opposite the school.
"Children from the Reception Class enjoyed planting their bulbs and are really looking forward to seeing the colourful plants when they blossom in the spring."
