TEST VALLEY residents are being offered the chance to join the mayor on a series of health walks around the borough.

Mayor councillor Carl Borg-Neal is touring the area after he joined the Romsey Health Walk this week.

His tour will include walks in Valley Park, Stockbridge, East Anton and Wellow, starting this weekend.

Cllr Borg-Neal said: "Test Valley's Health Walks are fantastic.

"They are great opportunities for people to get out and about in the fresh air, meet new people and get involved in the local community.

"Research by Cambridge University has proven that exercise such as health walks have vast physical and mental health benefits, including even delaying the onset of conditions such as Alzheimers and dementia."

The walks will begin tomorrow (Jan 20) at Valley Park from 10.30am, leaving from Cleveland Bay Public House.

The next walk will take place on January 26 in Stockbridge, departing Danebury Hill Fort from 10am.

Following that will be a walk from Augusta Park Community Centre from 10.30am on February 1, and finally a walk from Wellow Village Hall at 1.30pm on February 7.
