THE organisers of the first ever Romsey Vegan Fair are running a second event after their initial success.

Hundreds of people packed out Crosfield Hall earlier this year for the fair that saw stalls and speakers on the vegan lifestyle.

Now, organisers the Watkins family, of Romsey, are planning further events throughout the year.

Amanda Watkins, 47, said she's even been able to turn her attention to the events full-time after the success.

She said: "We can't believe just how much we have been able to achieve to be honest with you.

"After our first one, I just paid myself a little wage and the rest goes to charity or vegan organisations. They have to adhere to our beliefs of course.

"Now we're looking ahead to more this year."

The next vegan fair will now be held at the same venue for Easter weekend.

From 10am on March 30 and March 31, there will be a foodbank collection, donations available to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and, among other things, giant inflatable animals.

They will also have vegan speakers, including internet star Vegan Geezer, who has around 10,000 followers on some social media accounts.

Amanda helps to run the events with her husband Martin, and their daughter Ruby.

Amanda added: "We are all having some great fun together and planning as many as we can. We have our eye on some dates in the summer to return, but we're just glad that people are enjoying it."
