SIR – I installed a new bird nesting box on Saturday afternoon. I sat down on the garden bench afterwards and about 10 minutes later I spotted a robin checking out the next box that I had placed in an old plum tree. Within two hours a pair of robins were flying into the nest box with old leaves. The next day the pair were busy building their nest again. Could these robins be Hampshire’s fastest house builders? Maybe they could give the county’s developers’ a few tips on how to build homes.
