A MURDER probe has been launched in Test Valley after a 28-year-old London man was found at 1am this morning.

Hampshire Constabulary have launched a murder investigation after the man was found injured on Cricketers Way in Andover and taken to Southampton General Hospital.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 37-year-old man from Andover has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Chivers said: “Our investigations into the exact circumstances of what happened in the early hours of this morning are ongoing and residents in Andover will see a lot of police activity in the area today and throughout the weekend.

“We will be carrying out house to house enquiries, as well as undertaking an extensive search of the scene.

“At this stage, we believe there are still people who were in the area or saw what happened that we have yet to speak to, so if this is you, please get in touch.
