THE air ambulance had to land in Romsey after a crash involving a pedestrian.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance landed at the town's cricket ground early Wednesday afternoon after a collision involving a car and an 84-year-old female pedestrian on Alma Road.
A car was also seen on the curb of the road, with the scene opposite the town's fire station.
A statement from Hampshire police said: "We were called at 12.11pm to a report of a collision on Alma Road, Romsey, involving a pedestrian and a car."
South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.07 with the caller reporting a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
"We sent an ambulance and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the incident.
"The pedestrian was an 84-year-old female who had sustained a head injury and after initial treatment at the scene, she was then taken by road to University Hospital Southampton."
