WINCHESTER residents are still concerned about the affect of a new primary school on their lives.

Residents in Cheriton Road argue the proposed 420-pupil school and 55-place nursery at The Westgate School will cause traffic chaos.

They took these photos last Friday afternoon to show how the road is currently congested at school collection times.

But the county council has backed the proposals and said a detailed traffic plan would be in place to avoid problems.

A county council regulatory committee is due to discuss the plan on March 13.

No mention that the council ignored the preferred option, recommended by expensive consultants, that existing primary schoold should be expanded. Why will local (and national) politicians not listen to the people? Let's remember this fiasco and make sure they pay by losing seats at the next elections.,

Don't they teach journalists the difference between "affect" and "effect" these days?! Bah! Humbug!
