4:10pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in Winchester
WINTONIANS still have time to prove that their roads have kerb appeal.
Cultivation Street is a nationwide competition to find Britain’s best street and has so far attracted 300 entries from across the UK, ranging from a row of seafront cottages to community and school gardens.
Judging takes place on September 5 at Trinity House in London and the competition consists of a number regional heats and categories before the title of Britain’s Best Street is awarded, with a prize of £10,000 of National Garden Gift Vouchers for the winner.
TV Gardener David Domoney, the organiser of the campaign says: “This is the Chelsea Flower Show of the UK’s streets, communities of next door neighbours all working together to share the passion of gardening and create a sense of pride to where they live.”
The competition launched at the end of May and winners will be notified on 8 September.
