Alresford hotel honoured by national organisations
10:00am Sunday 25th August 2013 in Winchester
AN ALRESFORD inn has been given a national seal of approval.
Both VisitEngland, the official English Tourist Board, and the AA have awarded The Swan Hotel with three-star ratings.
It follows months of refurbishments at the site in West Street, upgrading the bar, restaurant, kitchen and reception areas.
A new area called The Snug has been created to provide a more intimate setting for coffee, cakes and conversation, alongside the formal dining room and the more relaxed Watercress Room.
All dining rooms are also available for functions.
A spokesman said: “The response from guests who have enjoyed the new-look Swan Hotel has been overwhelmingly positive – comments left in the visitors’ book include “breathtaking”, “lost for words” and “the transformation is amazing.””
On top of the work, a new menu has been launched while the inn also hosts a fish n’ chips night every Wednesday for £5.
It follows improvements made to the rooms in 2012.
