A KINGS Worthy woman is desperately searching for her beloved missing dog.

Glenys Hutton is distraught at the loss of Amy, a black flatcoat retriever bitch. They were on Top Field at about 7.30am on Friday, November 29, when she was attacked by a Labrador.

Amy bolted, but the other dog gave chase, at which point the Lab’s owner, nowhere near when it attacked, used a whistle to call it back. Ms Hutton said: “We’ve looked everywhere and contacted hundreds of people."

She said: “I’m absolutely devastated. But if I give up I will never find her.

“It’s the not knowing. If the worst has happened I will have closure. But it is amazing that you realise you are acquainted with people but that you become firm friends. They have come out of Facebook to help.”

She has contacted all her Facebook friends and visited rescue centres and a lot of friends have helped with the search.

There is a railway line very close to Top Field, but there have been no reported incidents and regular dog-walkers check the fence and confirm it is dog proof.

For identification, Amy, who is eight years old, has a greying muzzle and on her back, just below and right of her collar, she has a scar under the fur.

She is tagged, microchipped and tattooed. If anyone has any information, please call Ms Hutton, of Meadowland, on 01962 620720, or 07940 385997.
