POLICE are investigating a burglary in Winchester after medals belonging to a World War Two veteran were stolen.

The incident occurred on a property in Wales Street sometime between February 20–27 and various items were taken including the three medals.

The medals were the 1939-1945 Star, the African Star and the Italian Star. They also had paperwork with them.

Anyone with information should call PC Andrew Spooner at North Walls police station on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Any information which may lead to the return of the medals to their owner and the possible identity of the offenders will be gratefully received.
