WINCHESTER City Council chose a local business to design their new tourism travel guide.
The free Visit Winchester Guide lists details of the ancient capital’s vast history, places to eat, shop and stay, and events throughout 2014, including those commemorating the centenary of the First World War.
The council chose local agency Park Corner, who has a studio on Southgate Street, to design the tourist aid.
Their managing director, Liz Livingston, said: “We have really enjoyed evolving the design of the Visit Winchester Guide and working collaboratively with Winchester City Council.
“After all, this is the guide for the city we love, live and work in. Our designs reflect the exciting year ahead in Winchester."
Cllr Robert Humby, deputy leader of Winchester City Council and portfolio holder for Economic Prosperity, said: “We support local businesses wherever possible whilst carrying out the business of the Council itself.
“Creative and knowledge industries represent a key growth sector locally and the success of companies such as Park Corner reflects the fact that Winchester has a growing reputation as a hub of talented and innovative professionals.”
The guide is available from the Tourism Information Centre on the Broadway, or the tourist information desk at the Winchester Discovery Centre on Jewry Street.
