OWNERS of an elite Winchester kitchen shop have celebrated 10 years in business.

Stewart Carr and his wife Lesley welcomed over 50 people to their store on Broadway last night (April 4) including former and prospective customers as well as the mayor and mayoress of Winchester.

Stewart Carr, owner, said: "I'd like to thank you all for coming. You're all very special people as far as we're concerned. 10 years, 250 beautiful kitchens later, and we're proud of every one of them and we're thankful for your leap of faith; it's not the obvious choice but it's different.

"On behalf of the team I'd like to just say thank you very much."

A special canapé and champagne reception was put on for members of the Bulthaup Kitchen Cub and friends of Mr and Mrs Carr while a pianist played light jazz. The event was just one of several events being held throughout the year to mark the anniversary of the shop opening.

Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Ernie Jeffs, said: "Can I congratulate you for your 10 year anniversary. It's very distinctive and here's to the next 10 years at least."
