WINCHESTER CTC, the local group of the national cycling charity, is adding to its range of rides to meet increasing demand from cyclists.

The first family ride leaves Easton village at 2pm on Saturday May 10.

Andy Key, organiser said: “This is a ride for children in trailers, trailerbikes or child seats, older children on their own bikes, and their parent or grandparents – a great afternoon for the family.  Each month we pick a different start point near Winchester, cycling on quiet lanes and cycle paths, with that all important ice cream stop when possible”.

Sue Coles, the group’s secretary, said: “Families with young children want to get out on their bikes but often don’t know where to go. Our new family rides are ideal for them. Also more and more people are available during the week and so we are also introducing monthly moderate-paced mid-week rides”.

The CTC is also holding monthly mid-week rides with the first one last Tuesday. (MAY6)
