A WINCHESTER school has raised over £1,000 for the British Red Cross.

Henry Beaufort School students held a series of fundraisers, led by 16-year-old Isaac Crawford, to raise £1,331 for the charity.

A cheque was presented during Red Cross Week by charity representative Jan Treacher-Evans at the whole school assembly.

She said: “This is an amazing amount of money you have raised. You should all be very proud of yourselves. The Red Cross relies on donations such as these to pay for our vital services in Hampshire. It will also look very good on your CVs.”

Events included a wheelchair race, a penalty shootout and crossbar challenge, a cake sale, a handmade bracelet sale and a mufti day.
