ORGANISATIONS across Winchester District have been invited to apply for a share in grants aimed to help not-for-profit groups.

Community project grants of over £500 can be applied for, from a pot of £30,000, until June 30 to be used towards the cost of one-off projects, specialised equipment, start-up costs and renovations.

Portfolio holder for communities and transport, Cllr Mike Southgate, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for not-for-profit organisations to benefit from a community grant. In my new role as Portfolio Holder I look forward to meeting local groups to find out about the great work they are all doing in our district and how we can help them further.”

Melissa Fletcher, funding and support officer, added: “Our project grants are awarded for all manner of projects: arts, sports, new-builds or increasing capacity in existing structures. As long as your organisation is not for profit and benefits the residents of Winchester and district you are entitled to apply.”

Not-for-profit organisations can also apply for the Town Forum Small Grants which closes on June 27. This small grant is specifically for organisations serving the six wards of Winchester without parish councils and it is open to partnership funding with surrounding parishes such as Badger Farm.
