STAFF members at a Winchester restaurant are due to take part in an event to help raise money for a children’s charity.

A team from the ASK Italian Winchester branch, on the High Street, have entered the company’s Summer Triathlon in July for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

On Thursday (July 10), the group will be running, swimming and cycling, at Dorney Lake in Berkshire, in a bid to raise part of the £1million needed to fund a new surgery centre.

Andrew Franklin, general manager, said: “We’re so proud of our relationship with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. We’re really grateful to staff and customers who have helped us to raise money for such a fantastic cause and we can’t wait to do Winchester proud in the competition and raise even more with the ASK Italian Summer Triathlon.”

Sarah Norris, account manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity said: “We’re delighted to have ASK Italian’s continued support. The money raised by the ASK Italian Summer Triathlon will help to fund the hospital’s new surgery centre, due to open in 2017.

“The new centre will include brand new kitchen, dining and play areas for young patients and their families from across the UK.”
