A ROAD was brought to a standstill near Winchester after a lorry struck a bridge.
A heavy goods vehicle hit a railway bridge on Wellhouse Lane at around 9.30am this morning.
The road, close to the forthcoming Barton Farm development, links Harestock and the village of Headbourne Worthy, blocked the roads in both directions.
A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service said: “We were alerted at 9.31am to an incident on Wellhouse Lane on the railway bridge.
"We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew and one patient was treated at the scene and didn’t require hospital treatment.”
