PARAMEDICS were called to St Cross after a man was injured in a road traffic collision.
One rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were sent to the corner of Canon Street and Southgate Street following reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car.
Several passers-by stopped to help the motorcyclist before the emergency services arrived at around 8.30am.
Commuter traffic was held up briefly before the man was taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
The extent of his injuries are not known.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “At 8.16am we received a call about a road traffic collision between a motorbike and a car on Southgate Street.
“We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance an one male patient was conveyed to Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.”
