A GROUP that aims to give people a voice on healthcare is to offer £30,000 in grants.

Healthwatch Hampshire, which is an independent organisation that gathers people’s views on health services across the county, will offer grants of up to £2,000 to individuals, projects and groups.

The aim is to make it simpler for people to share their experiences, with hopes of improving services.

Steve Taylor, manager, explains how the money could be used: “It could just be a couple of hundred pounds to pay for refreshments so people from a neighbourhood who don’t normally get involved with big public service organisations can meet in a community hall to share their experiences and pass the feedback to our team.”

He added: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get their ideas or projects funded and so there is no need for the group to be official or a registered charity.”

Groups have until September 14 to register, with results announced the same month.
