HOMES in Colden Common and Brambridge were left without water for around four hours after a water main burst.

Around 400 houses on Upper Moors Road, Pennington Close, Orchard Close, Fleming Place and Spring Lane were affected yesterday.

Residents reported issues with water pressure in their kitchens and bathrooms but were provided with free bottled water while Southern Water repairmen worked to resolve the problem.

A spokesperson for Southern Water said: “A water main in Upper Moors Road, Brambridge, burst yesterday morning.

“About 400 properties in the Brambridge and Colden Common area lost their water supply while we repaired the pipe. Supply was restored and the water main repaired at about 1.40pm.

“We're sorry for the inconvenience this caused our customers.”
