A PUB is celebrating the launch of a Winchester woman’s cookbook by hosting a special fundraiser.
The Thomas Lord pub in West Meon opens its doors on Wednesday, August 27, from 6.30pm, to raise money for charity and will see head chef, Fran Joyce, serve up a special menu to celebrate Penny Ericson’s Meats, Eats, Drinks and Leaves.
The book was unveiled at Lainston House at the end of last month and celebrates producers, suppliers, chefs and their venues in a bid to raise money for its official beneficiary The Pelican Cancer Foundation.
It includes Upham Brewery pubs The Thomas Lord, The Rockingham Arms in West Wellow, as well as the brewery itself.
Clare Winterbottom, manager at The Thomas Lord, said: “We are very proud of the fact that all our food is home-grown or locally sourced and so to be asked to be part of a project that both champions Hampshire produce and raises money for a cause close to our hearts was a great honour.
“We are very much looking forward to celebrating the book’s launch, giving everyone a chance to sample the best Hampshire recipes, whilst raising as much money as possible for The Pelican Cancer Foundation.”
Tickets for the event, which includes a four-course meal including dishes that feature in the book, cost £50 (£70 including wine) and after dinner local band, The Thomas Lord Old Gits, will perform.
