WINCHESTER Churches Nightshelter is hosting its AGM and supporters’ evening on Wednesday (Oct 22).

The theme this year is The True Cost of Homelessness and takes part at St Peter’s Church Hall in Jewry Street, Winchester.

It will feature a series of presentations and films from staff, residents, volunteers and experts.

Michele Price, Nightshelter manager, said: “Homelessness is not just about losing your home. It can also mean losing your independence, your support network, your mental and physical wellbeing, and your dignity and confidence. The true cost of homelessness is huge and far-reaching, which is why we feel it’s an extremely relevant and important issue to understand.”

The event starts at 6.30pm with the Nightshelter’s AGM, followed by The True Cost of Homelessness which starts at 7pm. There will also be a live musical accompaniment throughout the evening.
