A FILM telling the story of the Meon Valley from the skies has been launched.

Meon Valley – a Journey of Discovery features aerial footage of the villages and churches along 20 miles of the valley, through South Downs National Park.

The journey, accompanied by music and Saxon pronunciation of place names, also takes in the National Nature Reserves at Old Winchester Hill and Titchfield Haven.

The project is the brainchild of Corhampton’s Friends of the Saxon Church, who run a variety of events and schemes to bring the valley’s ancient history to life.

Organiser Peter O’Sullivan said: “This has been an amazing project involving local schools, villages, historical societies and church groups up and down the valley.”

The film will be released on DVD on October 27 and launched in schools and community centres on November 4.
