RIFLES, handguns, shotguns and live ammunition have already been handed in as part of Hampshire's firearms amnesty.

The campaign by Hampshire police was launched last week and so far has seen a number of rifles and guns surrendered, along with live and spent ammunition.

There are just three more days left of the amnesty, which finishes on Friday (NOV21), so officers are reminding people to take the opportunity to “get shot” of weapons and ammunition.

A previous campaign held in 2003 in the north of Hampshire resulted in 119 firearms and 1124 rounds of live ammunition being surrendered in 16 days.

To surrender a weapon or ammunition email firearms.surrender@hampshire.pnn.police.uk for an appointment or call 101.
