FIVE people have been arrested in connection with an unprovoked attack in Winchester that left a man seriously injured.
He was rushed to hospital with severe head and facial injuries after the incident in St Cross Road on Friday, November 14.
A 35-year-old man told police he was walking towards Ranelagh Road with a friend at around 3.35am when they were approached by a group of four men and a woman.
Some of the group struck the two men, leaving one injured on the ground. The injured man was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital for treatment.
Police say five people have been arrested and are being questioned. They are a 22-year-old man, three 21-year-old men and an 18-year-old woman.
