OPPOSITION is brewing against transport chiefs who cut a bus route from Petersfield to Bishop’s Waltham.
More than 150 people have signed a petition to revive Brijan’s number 17, which now runs just twice a week through villages including Waltham Chase, Swanmore, Droxford and Corhampton.
Campaign organiser Alan Jones worries the Saturday service, which was lost in January with £1.2 million cuts to Hampshire County Council’s bus subsidies, will be followed by the last remaining route on Wednesdays.
Copies of the petition are available from Mr Jones and post offices in Droxford, East Meon and West Meon.
